At South Cerney Ridding School whatever the weather, you can take a lesson. We have facilities for teaching indoors as well as outdoors.
If you have not ridden before, do not worry, you do not have to invest in special equipment and clothing straight away, we can provide you with riding hats. The only thing you will need is Wellington boots. If it is more convenient for you, you can leave your wellies at the stables for us to look after them until next time you visit us.
Each lesson includes a maximum of six to eight people in order to provide peaceful learning conditions.
At South Cerney Ridding School we offer a range of packages including:
Ridding and jumping lessons
For both private or groups
Hacking
Which include rides along the bridleways of the Cotswold Water Park and surrounding area. Individuals or groups are always escorted by capable staff.
Stable management and road safety courses
These are run for groups of all ages and cover theoretical and practical aspects.
If you feel brave, you will also have the opportunity at South Cerney Ridding School to take some profitionary tests or “Pony Club Exams” and becomes qualified.
Children
South Cerney Ridding School welcomes children. The passion for horses can come very young, the attraction to animals can also be experienced by children from a very young age. We welcome children from the age of…To this effect since some of the youngsters can not read yet, we use some posters which show pictures to enable the children to know where they should be directing their horse/poney.
Disabled
We have brand new stables, which were built last year. Our sponsor was the radio GWR FM. These new stables are aimed at teaching disabled people to look after horses. They will be able to learn how to take care about horses in feeding and brushing horses in safety conditions.
Moreover, for lessons of ridding, Cerney Riding School is equipped of special infrastructure and qualified personnel to bring new sensation to disabled in a guaranteed security.
Cerney Riding School is a member of “Riding for the Disabled Association” and three members of its staff are qualified from this association (RDA) to give lessons to disabled persons.
